Dr. Melody Lu graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from UBC. Having emigrated from Shanghai, China at the age of 14, she and her family have been living in Vancouver ever since.  She worked at BC Cancer Research working on fetal DNA in maternal blood stream prior to her work in the field of Dentistry.  As a dentist, Dr. Lu loves the hands-on experience and the patient communication aspects of her work. She believes that helping to inform patients about their dental care is key to improving her patients' oral health.  She currently volunteers at the Vancouver Aboriginal Health Society Dental Clinic to provide dental support to the local underprivileged population of Vancouver.

Dr. Lu provides general dental services and is committed to improving her skills through ongoing continuing education.  She has completed  the RV Tucker's Gold Training Course, and is currently a member of the BITES Dental Implant Institute.  She is also a certified Invisalign provider and has trained in the use of Botox to help with Temporal Mandibular Pain (TMJ) . She also speaks fluent Mandarin and Shanghainese.
